MKE a Mark: Liz Taylor

Liz Taylor, Director of STEM, Milwaukee School of Engineering

Liz makes her mark on Milwaukee’s tech ecosystem by exposing students and adults to technology. As the Director of STEM at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Liz introduces students, educators, and the community to technology, through scripted coding clubs or computer science courses, in subject areas like artificial intelligence and cyber security.
Working in partnership with different organizations, she wants to be sure everyone has access to computer science and knows about the opportunities that are here to learn and to stay in tech.

Coming to Milwaukee by chance and staying by choice, she wants to be sure everyone has access to computer science and knows about the opportunities here to learn and stay in tech.

One way Liz exposes technology to students is through Cozmo, the AI robot she’s holding.

“Cozmo can think for himself. He can do facial recognition, he can recognize a sad face or a happy face. He can come to your rescue if you show him where to go and how to identify different objects. He’s a really cool guy that helps introduce coding concepts in a really hands-on way.”
